The S2X Team has carried out an output-only modal identification test of the S. Maria Maddalena church in Casamicciola Terme (NA), Italy. It is one of the largest churches of the Ischia isle. The church was erected in 1896 and it is characterized by a tuff masonry structures with embedded steel profiles. The ambient vibration response of the structure has been measured in 36 positions by 25 accelerometers: thus, two sensor layouts have been considered, with 12 reference sensors and 13 roving sensors. The fundamental modes of the structure have been successfully identified from 1 hour long records.
